How to Be An Irresponsible Media Hack (Part 1)

Work for Arianna Huffington. Look at the headling on this piece:

HuffPost's Corn: Newsweek Docs Show Rove Leaked CIA Agent's Name...

If you read this blog or one of the many others covering this story in a responsible manner, you know that the Newsweek documents (or more accurately, the emails of Matthew Cooper of Time) reveal that Cooper spoke to Rove, who spoke to him about 'Wilson's wife'. What the email MOST EMPHATICALLY does not show is that Rove mentioned her by name, nor does it show that he knew she was an undercover operative. Either or both of these facts may be proven by other means, but they are not in the 'Newsweek docs'.

If the headline writer at Huff'n'Puff has followed this story at all, the implication of the headline would be obvious - and obviously wrong. Of course, it's really David Corn's fault for writing that in his article...but wait, here's the best part: he didn't write that in the article. Not only is the headline false, materially, it's not even accurate in referencing the piece it's the headline for! This is truly hack work, and it's shamefully amateurish and dishonest. Arianna should be ashamed...but I doubt shame is a word she is acquianted with...
