Sort of, anyway.
Nicholas Kristof gets into the spirit of the season with some kind words for the Christian Right (hat tip to
RealClearPolitics). He praises conservatives for leading the way on several issues that the Left should surely support, were it not for hatred of the Bushies. Included among them are Darfur, increased funding for the fight against AIDS in Africa, sex trafficking, and North Korea.
Kristoff is quite right that not every issue is a case of Left vs. Right. Surely there are some basic issues that all sides can agree on, and perhaps the way to that 'healing' that so many claim to want can be found through cooperation on, say, the genocide in Darfur. As Kristof concludes:
That would be a much better use of the next four years than sulking.
