Alex at Marginal Revolution has some thoughts on increasing IQs and TV and movie plots. I have to agree that (most) movies were more boring in days gone by - Wuthering Heights and A Day At The Races come to mind - but then, there is the glory of The Philadelphia Story and My Girl Friday to compensate (not to mention Citizen Kane). Worth a read...
