The Thinking Man's Guide to the Supreme Court Debate

Care of PoliPundit, we are directed to this handy guide to translating the liberal positions we can look forward to hearing as we enter another week of rampant Sumpreme Court speculation. It's funny, but it's not a joke. The Left elevates abortion to a position far out of proportion to the actual 'danger' that exists. Let's take the worse case scenario for the Left: Roe v. Wade is overturned (and it won't be, but I did say worse case). The issue goes back to the states, where it probably should be anyway. The legal foundation for Roe is weak; even some of its supporters admit that. Nevertheless, I doubt it is in any jeopardy.

Even if Roe did get overturned, I think it's safe to say that most states would allow at least some limited abortion rights, and some would probably allow an even more permissive atmosphere than the status quo...and the issue would have to be decided the democratic way, by convincing the community at large of the rightness of the various positions, rather than by judicial fiat.
