The Stupidest Piece of the Day...

...and it's in no danger of being beaten, is this piece of tripe that's as bad as its headline:
[The United States] is [a] nation that acts for the common good in ways that were meticulously outlined by a radical liberal named Jesus.
Linda Valdez assures us Jesus would be for universal health care, better wages, you know: the Democratic party line. A couple of questions for Ms. Valdez, since she's so sure Jesus would be a liberal:
  • Would Jesus embrace the 'radical liberalism' that looks at His followers as inbred hicks and fights tooth and nail to remove religion from public life?
  • Would Jesus be pro-choice?
Of course, this is all a parlor game. We have no way of knowing what any historical figure, much less Jesus, would say about today's events, but given what we know of Jesus from His words and deeds, I think it's a pretty safe bet He would condemn the actions of both parties and shun politics altogether. Of course, I have no way of knowing, either: beware of anyone who starts a sentence, "If Jesus was alive today, He would...".
